A New Lease of Life
A New Lease of Life
My name is Marc and I am an alcoholic. I spent many years never fitting into life, until I found my first alcoholic drink: and then I felt like the world was now a place that I could be at ease in. This didn’t last very long, and I quickly began to face hard lessons by going to prison, losing family ties, breakdown of relationships and becoming a very lonely person.
I was about to lose my children, my partner, my family and my home. I decided to come to AA, and I got involved in the 12 Step Program with the help of a sponsor and my home group.
I became a father again, a partner again, a son again and a worthwhile member of society. Alcoholics Anonymous has taught me how to live life on life’s terms, and it has given me the structure to an amazing life, in which I’m over a year sober. I feel at peace, and I love the magical new lease of life I have, thanks to AA.
